The 39023 car was finished in dark green and sold new in Japan. The car took part in the Bugatti International Rally in Italy in june 1994 and was then shipped to Japan to be part of the owner's private collection.

During its Japanese life, the GT023 has been resprayed in Bugatti blue and the interior fitted with an alcantara dashboard (factory order or customer customization?).
In 2014, the car was shipped to Symbolic Motors in USA and was exported to Europe in 2021, probably sold in Denmark.
