The Bugatti EB110 Supersport chassis SS30 should have been the second production EB110 America. However, short of parts specific to the US model, the SS30 was left out on the assembly line by the Bugatti workers. At the bankruptcy in 1995 and also at the auction in 1997, the SS30 was still unfinished and unmotorized. The car was ordered in Bianco Monaco.
It seems the unfinished car was bought in 1997 by the Monaco Racing Team of Gildo Pallanca Pastor and was finished in Monaco. The car was refurbished in Blu Bugatti, the interior was a one-tone Nero Inchios (leather not signed by Poltrona Frau), rims were mate black painted and the car was motorized with a Supersport engine. The car was fitted with the Xenon lights of the US models, the panel between the rear lights with the central Bugatti crest and a racing rear spoiler, similar to the Sport Competizione one. The dashboard was a european version one but with US counters (miles and km/h). A specific VIN plate was affixed on the wheel arch at the level of the passenger door, with indication of the American type chassis number, as well as the exemption to the 208 standard, concerning the lack of airbag. The car was stored several years at the MRT facility in Monaco and was then refurbished with a SS rear spoiler and standard front lights. The SS30 was sold to the USA (Texas) but it seemed the car was not fully US compliant and remained unregistered. In 2019, the SS30 was sold in Switzerland. |
