Rétromobile 2012

The 2012 edition of the french show dedicated to the collectible classic cars takes place in Paris, at the Porte de Versailles place.
The highlight of the show is the exhibition organized by the Mullin Automotive Museum, which for the first time ever in Europe is showing ten stunning French cars fitted out by French coachbuilders.  The two incredibly shaped divas of the californian museum are the 1936 Bugatti Type 57SC Atlantic and the 1939 Delahaye Type 165 V-12 speedster dressed by Figoni & Falaschi. The exhibition is completed with a 1934 Voisin C25 Aerodyne (the 2011 Pebble Beach Best of show), a 1937 racing Delahaye Type 145 V12 , a Delahaye Type 145 coupé, the exhuberant Dubonnet Hispano H-6C Xenia, a Talbot Lago T-26, an Hispano-Suiza H6B Skiff and a Bugatti Type 46.

Several commemoration birthday several were held during this Retromobile : the 50th birthday of the Ferrari 250 GTO and the Alpine A110 for example.
Two original exhibitions were held, one devoted to Youngtimers and their translation into rally and the other one dedicated to homemade car, built and homologated by their designer : Renaudat, Fauvel, Romer, Collet, Chasseing, Piollet, BLF, Prab or Glasson.
Last special exhibit with a stand devoted to amphibious cars, with in particular a Hobbycar, a strange 1932 Comete and the Hydromobile.
Quality and quantity...
A
nd now, the rest of the interesting cars of the motorshow, with as usual a lot of classic cars. Many professionals attended the event with legendary cars, Fiskens with a Ford GT40, a Ferrari 275 GTBC or a Dino 206 SP, Hall & Hall with an Aston Martin DBR, a Jaguar D-Type or a De Tomaso 505, Lükas Huni with a Jaguar XK120 Ghia Supersonic, a Ferrari 250 GT Tour de France, a Ferrari 250 GT SWB or a Delage 2LCV.
Other stars of the show were a Bugatti T55 Supersport and a T57 Atalante, a Maserati Tipo 61 Birdcage, a Mercedes SSK, a prototype of a Maserati A6 dressed by Zagato and a car that I was particularly pleased to see, a Monica 560 Sedan, the last attempt after Facel Vega to launch a french luxury car brand.
