First
visit of Salon Privé at Syon Park, in the West of London
for the 7th edition of this select event. The weather was perfect
and the level of exhibited cars was really astonishing, with
the classy Syon Castle in background.
Salon Privé is an event that can be divided in two parts,
an exhibition of actual cars / concept cars (part I), and a
meeting of collectible classic cars, with a concours of Elegance
(part II, next update). In this first part, Salon Privé
is the occasion for new birth sport cars factories to show their
creations (Rimac, Renovatio, Trident...), to the well known
brands to expose the last declinations (Aston Martin V12 Vantage
Volante, Vanquish II, Ferrari California 30 or Mercedes SLS
Roadster) and to the luxury dealers to prospect for potential
clients (J. Macari, F. Dale, Landmark...). Two exhibitions held
the limelight : a Gulf sponsored racing cars retrospective,
with a large part of these cars already seen during Rétromobile
2011, but more photogenic outdoor, and a special tribute to
the italian coachbuilder Touring, with the last styling studies
(Gumpert Tornante, Maserati A8GCS, Alfa Romeo Disco Volante
2012) and a nice selection of Touring designed sport cars of
the sixties (but you will have to wait for the next update!). |
