The
"Best of British" tour is a meeting
exclusively dedicated to cars produced in Great Bitain, one of the greatest
kingdom for exclusive cars. Many automakers were gathered on the lawns
of Windsor Castle : Mc Laren (who took the opportunity to present the
spyder version of the MP4-12C), Bristol (402 convertible, 401, 404 and
410), Aston Martin (DB4, DB6, V8 Saloon and Volante, Vanquish and DB9),
Jaguar (1,5L, MkV, XK120 convertible and FHC, XK140, Eagle E-Type and
the fantastic C-Type chassis number #XKC021), Bentley (4,25L or S3 Continental
convertible), Rolls-Royce (Silver Ghost and an interesting Silver Spur
Olympian Edition), Lotus, Alvis (with a beautiful Speed25), Frazer Nash,
the "made in England" Ford GT40 (chassis 1017). At last, one of the greatest exhibited car is a special Riley Transformable, built in 1948 by the swiss coachbuilder Walter Koeng, on a 2,5L Riley chassis. The car was a styling prototype shaped in an Art Deco style close to Avion Voisin pattern, with the particularity to be the first car with scooped glass side panels on the roof. |
