The 2015 edition of Retromobile was the 40th edition, and was held in the Palais Expo Porte de Versailles, in Paris, from the 4 to 8 februray. As always, it's difficult to make a selection of the most interesting cars such the quantity and the quality of "Fine Automobiles" were outstanding.
Theme expositions were an incredible display of 13 of the Spanish factory Pegaso, the 3 Bugatti Royale from the Schlumpf Collection and the tasty Lopresto Collection. Of course, the Retromobile quality also depends on the efforts of vintage cars dealers, which surpassed themselves.

Exclusive and outstanding Pegaso cars at Rétromobile
Rétromobile brings alive the amazing story of Pegaso, a post war Spain borned marque, presenting the most beautiful and astonishing models made by the legendary brand with its fascinating history. This is also an opportunity to rediscover avant-garde cars that were the technological showcase of their time, dressed by prestigious designers such Touring or Saoutchik.

For the first time ever, the Cité de l’Automobile in Mulhouse is presenting the three Bugatti Royale at Rétromobile, the Coupé Napoleon (not shown here, the car wasn't ready when I was there), the Limousine Park Ward and the replica of the Roadster Esders, a kind of giant Type 55.

The Lopresto Collection
This collection was presented as a world first, giving visitors the opportunity to admire the results of Corrado Lopresto’s lifelong passion for beautiful cars. Milanese architect and property developer Corrado Lopresto has spent his life tracking down and collecting prototypes and cars with unique coachwork : the Lancia Florida prototype, the Giulietta prototype by Bertone and Pininfarina, the Lancia Sibilo, the Alfa 6C 1750 Aprile, the Aurelia B52 Vignale, the Autobianchi A112 Giovani by Pininfarina, the Lancia Flaminia Speciale by Pininfarina, the Osca 1600 GT Touring, the Alfa Romeo Praho Touring, the Alfa Romeo 2500SS Bertone and the Alfa 2500 SS by Pininfarina.

Alongside the unique 1953 W194 with its magnesium-alloy bodywork, Mercedes will cause a sensation at Rétromobile by presenting the amazing 540 K Streamliner. Designed just before the war for a race that was ultimately cancelled, hidden away during the war and forgotten in the ensuing turmoil, this silver arrow has just been restored to its former glory.
