"The Monaco Sale" auction was organized by Bonhams during the Historic Grand Prix week in Monaco. The novelty of this edition is the choice of a different place, far from the rooms usually reserved for this kind of event. The villa La Vigie, former home of fashion designer Karl Lagerfeld, is located on the heights of Monaco and Beausoleil. The place and the view are just amazing but the flip side is that the space reserved for the auto show is quite small... but this gives a very unusual stamp, very Villa D'Este tainted, to this Monegasque sale.
Especially since the lots offered for sale do not detract from the decor: a Ferrari 625 TF, a Bentley 8L, a Delahaye 135M, an Horch 853a convertible, a BMW 507 or a Mercedes 300 SL Roadster for the classics. Two prestigious previews of the future Goodwood Sale were exhibited : the famous Aston Martin DB4 GT Zagato 2 VEV and the Alfa Romeo Tipo B.
Concerning sportcars, the selection was a very good level with a Bugatti EB110 GT, a Ferrari 365 GT4 BB, a BMW M1, a Maserati Ghibli SS or an Aston Martin V12 Vantage Zagato for instance.
