Galleria Ferrari
Maranello (Italy)

Small trip to Maranello, the birthplace of Ferrari, to visit the Galleria, the brand's museum. Even if Sunday is not the good day to visit the city and the surroundings of the factory, usually favorable to nice encounters, Maranello is not a city like the others, and a simple local market is enough to see "bella macchina".

If the industrial metamorphosis of the city can be seen as a necessary evil (I'm thinking of the Scuderia sports management building, which has erased a large part of the city center), the multiplication of test centers for tourists, on the other hand, falls into caricature, with all the shops gradually transformed into "drive-in" for second-hand Ferraris. A bit sad when it turns ridiculous in this way.

For this 2019 second semester session, the Galleria has organized 3 different displays : the Ferrari supercars, the Formula 1 and the two-seater sports cars.

The center of the city is closed because of the market, it's the occasion to do a bit of tourism, with some surprises on the way, like a Ferrari F40 or a 275 GTB4.

Arriving at the Galleria, the building is the same but except the central display in arc of a circle, it is difficult to recognize it. The staging is very dark, I'm glad I brought the tripod. The first display is a wonderful silver Ferrari 250 LM, not sure to have seen it before.
The two other rooms are dedicated to the Supercars, with a 288 GTO, a F40, a F50, an Enzo, a La Ferrari and a FXXK. The moke up of the P80/C is also on display.

The central display is dedicated to the Formula 1, from all eras. A second FXXK is also on display at the end of the museum.
The exhibition of the sportcars is more interesting, with the 125S recreation, the 340 MM, a 375 MM and a 250 GT Tour de France.
A great 312 PB is on display, above the famous pictures of the 3 330P4 in Daytona.
