June 2021 : In these times of pandemic when Covid19 is everywhere and all automotive events are cancelled one after the other, a little breath of fresh air is welcome to take your mind off things. So when Schaltkulisse contacted me to do a story on Italian Bugattis at the Campogalliano factory, I didn't think long before going, even though the planes were cancelled. Let's go for a 2300 km round trip, by car!
Once there, the stars of the day are 4 Bugatti cars from very different periods: a Type 13 Brescia from the 1920s, an EB110 GT from 1994, one of the very first Bugatti EB110 Supersport prototypes, the S4 chassis from 1993, the famous EB112, of which this is the prototype N°2 assembled a few years after the factory closure (around 1999) and a Bugatti Chiron, with optional clear-carbon bodywork.
