Paul Ricard Circuit, Le Castellet (F)

RM Sotheby's organized a rather exceptional sale on the Paul Ricard circuit, located near the village of Le Castellet, in Provence. It is part of the Collection of Jean Guikas, a famous collector and dealer from Marseille.

About 80 lots are presented, with some 60-70's classics (Ferrari 250 GT PF series 1, Ferrari 275 GTB, Ferrari 250 GT Berlinetta Competizione, Maserati Bora, Facel Vega excellence, Lamborghini Countach LP400, Bizzarrini 5300 GT or Iso Grifo A3C), classics of the 80's (Ferrari Testarossa, Lamborghini Countach 4000S, Rolls-Royce Camargue, Aston Martin V8 Zagato) or competition cars (Lister Storm GT, Jaguar XJ220C LM, Ferrari 512 BBLMX, Saleen S7R, Aston Martin DBRS9).



After a 1 hour drive from Marseille airport, I arrived at the Paul Ricard circuit, under a beautiful sun and an azure blue sky, typical of the Mediterranean. Discovery of the straight line of the pits and the turns of the lake and the bridge, with their characteristic blue and red ground markings.
The 1955 Ferrari 250 GT Berlinetta Competizione chassis 0385 GT is the prototype of the 250 Tour de France, still fitted with a body close to the 250 MM.
