The Bugatti EB110 Supersport chassis SS08, called S8, isn't a new car at all, it's the GT008 prototype, the famous cosmetic Supersport proto, which was renumbered following a chassis repair. Probably to bring the very first Supersport into line with the other prototypes in the series, the GT008 took on a full Supersport chassis number after the summer of 1993. A glance at the high door sill reveals that this is a very early EB110 prototype. On the other hand, it is still equipped with its 7-hole side quarter panel (+ 2 for air evacuation, close to the rear spoiler), the only remaining attribute of the original GT008.

The S8 prototype will continue to be used for testing, with part of the Reparto Esperienza staff at its side. It will also be used for media coverage, with a few test drives for journalists from around the world. The car was then used as a mule for the development of the Le Mans competition version.
It's difficult to know what happened to the car afterwards; some documents suggest it was destroyed in a crash test, while others speculate that it served as the basis for the early development of the EB115, the car that was to replace the EB110.
