While most of the Supersport on chain were stopped, a group of cars were finished between the end of 1994 and 1995. What they have in common was that they are neither US nor European versions. Only the cars for the special specification markets were able to escape the lack of parts. However, it is likely that the parts for the interior came from the development cars of Reparto Esperienza, which served as a parts bank.
The Bugatti EB110 Supersport chassis SS38 was ordered via the Bugatti importer of Japan, Nicole Racing. The SS38 was finished in Giallo Bugatti with a standard Supersport interior, in one-tone red leather. The special features of this car is a GT front bumper and the brake cooling slot red-painted. Again, this late production Supersport was addressed to a specific market since this SS has a chassis number reserved for the Japanese market (and it is possibly the only one). However, the case seems different for the engine because it could be that the car is equipped with a block (probably a GT unit) recovered from a development model of the Reparto Esperienze of the factory. The car was delivered and licensed in Japan. After several Japanese ownerships, the SS38 was sold in Germany and was displayed at several Automobile events and Classic Motorshows. The SS38 was then sold in Melbourne, Australia. |
