The Bugatti EB110 Supersport chassis SS05, called S5, is the third Supersport prototype built by the factory, after the cosmetic GT008 and the S4. For the first time, the car has inaugurated the rear side plate with five holes and an engine air intake, but S5 still does not have all specific appendages of the Supersport. Interestingly, the S5 is the first Supersport prototype with the final Supersport chassis number numerotation.

The role of S5 is poorly documented, but it seems to have played a major role in the development of the Supersport, whether in terms of aerodynamics, braking or in terms of mechanics. This prototype was used for the official pictures and was exhibited at many international motorshows.
The S5 prototype was then used as a mule to develop the EB110 Sport Competizione.
