Prototypes cars are always difficult to identify because of their hectic lives. Their lives pass from the tumult of media to the discretion of the development phases and at last, often ends inglorious against a crash test wall. However, a part of the Campogalliano's prototypes have survived.
Two distinct series of cars were used for developping the EB110. The first one called 110, designed by M. Gandini, was built on an aluminium chassis and 5 were made, numbered from A1 (A for aluminium chassis) to A5, in 1990 and 1991. The first one (A1) was dismantled after being used for testing, and the chassis was re-used for a styling study. The 4 aluminium cars left were re-numbered from GT 001 to GT 004. All of them have survived.

In mid 1991, a complete re-study of the car, now called EB110, was done by Materazzi and Benedini, both in technical or aesthetic terms. The Benedini prototypes were numbered from C6 (C for carbon chassis) to C16 and were built from mid 1991 to late 1992. The exact number of GT prototypes is difficult to know because some of them were destructed for crash tests or refurbish and then sold as production models. Around 10 EB110 prototype cars were built before the GT production model. An epowood design study with the almost definitive EB110 shape was built on the aluminium chassis number 6.

GT 012, the C13 car is now in Chicago, USA (2015, Oct 25).

The Supersport evolution (SS) was first developped on GT chassis (the first one is GT 008) but the early story of this model remains still unclear. Some SS chassis numbers have been recorded but very few informations are available on these cars, wich may never have been made. It's possible that other SS chassis was never numbered and others were cloned. It will be extremely difficult to shed light on this phase of development. An epowood design study quite close to the Supersport EB110 shape was built on the aluminium chassis number 7.

At last, I can list here the chassis numbers dedicated to the Bugatti sedan car, the EB112, that never reached production step. After the epowood design study car, the first motorized chassis was the famous burgundy red prototype from Giugiaro. Then, another Epowood model was made, with a modification of the rear of the car, with different lights localized on the body instead on the bumper. At last, 2 prototype models (a dark anthracite and a black ones) were finished after the bankruptcy, probably at the Monaco Racing Team.
